How to be Saved

What is the good news?
The Bible tells us that the good news focuses on the death, burial, and resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ (1 Corinthians 15:1-4). Because Jesus died for us and rose again, we can have eternal life!
And why do we need the good news?
We need it because we are all sinners (Romans 3:23). Instead of loving God with all our hearts and walking always in His ways, we’ve all gone our own way (Isaiah 53:6). Our sin has separated us from our Creator and has brought death to all of us (Romans 3:23 & 5:12). Death includes physical death and what the Bible calls the “second death” – eternal separation from God in a real place of fiery torment (Matthew 25:41; Revelation 21:8).
So how does the good news fit together?
God sent His own beloved Son Jesus to earth to “save His people from their sins” (Matthew 1:21). Jesus, as God, became a man to bear “our sins in His own body” on the cross (I Pet. 2:24). In other words, He died in our place. Instead of having to pay for our own sins, we can accept God’s free gift of salvation (Romans 6:23) by repenting of our sins (Acts 3:19), wholeheartedly trusting in Jesus (John 3:16) and asking Him to save us from sin and its penalty (Romans 10:13). Instead of suffering eternal death, we can experience eternal life—abundant life that lasts forever! (John 10:28)
We can be saved only by God’s grace, through faith in Jesus only, because salvation is a gift and “not of works” (Ephesians 2:8-9). There’s nothing we can contribute towards the gift of salvation because Jesus has paid the full price! On the cross He exclaimed, “It is finished!” (John 19:30).
Sadly, many people reject this good news. Our prayer is that if you haven’t already, you would turn away from your sin and trust Christ alone for your salvation! We want you to love and worship the Savior with us. He deserves nothing less than the greatest gift we can offer Him – our hearts.
